  Welcome to After the Rain!

After the Rain of Southwest Florida, Inc. is one of the few halfway houses in Fort Myers, Florida, to assist women in recovery from addiction, homelessness, and domestic violence. The program is designed to provide women with an intimate, supportive, home-like environment while maintaining structure and discipline as they journey through recovery to become self-sufficient and independent. Unique in our approach, both the director or an assistant lives on site, availing the women a combined total of nearly 30 years of recovery experience.
After the Rain of Southwest Florida, Inc. offers three types of housing:

  • Emergency shelter, good for up to 90 days and consistent with HUD/Lee County Homeless Coalition tracking;
  • Transitional housing which frequently runs into six months; and
  • Supportive housing, usually under a separate roof.  This house will accommodate women who have participated in our program for a year or more and who are ready for a little less structure, yet still need the support offered by After the Rain.

Time limits for each type of housing are arbitrary, as each woman has her own set of goals as set forth by each case management. These are individualized for each resident and supervised by either the house manager, the director or her assistant.
